When you contact New Prairie for an estimate, your call will be returned, an appointment will be made and kept, and a proposal to do the work will be promptly provided. Our estimator, Julie Birdwell, listens carefully to your needs and vision, and if you want them she can provide advice and suggestions for the work you have in mind. We believe that communication is one of the keys to a successful project. We establish reasonable expectations regarding project duration and costs, and we keep you updated on our work throughout your project.
While it is hard to avoid at least some level of disruption, we make it our goal to minimize the disturbance to you during any remodeling. Our workers respect your living space, and they prepare the work area so that dust, dirt, and even noise are contained. And when we’re through, we strive to leave the work site as clean as on the day work began.
Our staff expertise includes framing, installing ceramic tile, plastering, drywalling, and custom woodworking. As a general contractor, we also employ a team of insured subcontractors, including electricians, plumbers, and masons. Our professional relationships are of long standing, and we stand by our subcontractors’ work as we do our own.

Adding or Updating Bathrooms
The bathroom is probably the most commonly remodeled room in the house. Whether it’s adding a grab bar or creating a new full bath, New Prairie has expertise in ceramic tiling, cultured marble installation, cabinetry, and more to maximize your comfort and make the best use of your space.
Attics and Basements
New Prairie understands the egress necessities and code requirements involved in converting a basement or an attic to pleasant living space. One of these secondary areas can become a beautiful family room, bedroom, or home office. The vaulted ceilings, dormered areas, and nooks and crannies often intrinsic to these spaces pose logistical and design challenges that New Prairie loves to tackle.
Windows and Doors
As utility costs increase, people are becoming more energy conscious, replacing older doors and windows with new energy-efficient windows and insulated door units. New Prairie installs solid vinyl and wood replacement windows, patio doors, and steel, fiberglass, and wood entry doors. We also install solar tubes and skylights.
Decks and Porches
Exterior remodeling not only adds value to a home, it also gives you more living space to enjoy the out-of-doors. New Prairie can design and install a deck suitable for grilling, dining, reclining, or hot-tubbing. We also rebuild porches, screen in existing porches, and rebuild or add railings and lattice work.
