Emergency Wheelchair Ramp, Urbana

Sometimes accidents present homeowners with emergency accessibility issues. This ramp in Urbana was built in response to an accident, but the homeowners have found it helpful for day-to-day use as well.

The garage ramp led into a laundry area with a concrete floor. The laundry room had a step that required a second ramp. We cut the floor of the ramp around the heating vent.

Though it looks narrow in the picture, the ramp is big enough for a wheelchair to go up the first part of the ramp, turn on the flat area, and continue on into the house.
