New Prairie Construction is a full-service, insured general contractor serving the area of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. We specialize in remodeling, additions, historic renovation, straw bale construction, and green-building methods and materials. From something as simple as installing a bathroom grab bar to the complexity of a whole-house remodel, we deliver quality in every phase of a project.
Over our 20-year history, a third of our work has been remodeling kitchens and bathrooms. Upgrading either of these two rooms adds value and livability to nearly every home, and we pride ourselves on collaborating with homeowners to work out all of the technical and aesthetic details and bring their visions to life.
Another significant portion of our portfolio is room additions and historic renovations. We believe that any addition should respect the architectural integrity of the existing building, and we “sweat the details” to create a beautiful, sound, and energy-efficient structure.
One of our passions is using green-building techniques and materials, from installing bamboo floors and using natural paints to building straw bale homes. We are committed to energy efficiency and the use of renewable products.
